Loved the food and ambiance here - it’s quieter than average so you don’t have to yell to hear each other and it’s great for date nights or intimate dinners with family and friends.
They have a small, changing Asian fusion menu and we loved almost all the dishes here with the highlights being:
- snow crab noodles with squash and dashi butter
- heirloom tomato with “Tom yum” seafood and watercress
- deviled eggs made crispy
- fluke (fish) with massaman curry and CORN!!
Definitely highly recommend those. We thought the quail, eggplant, and dessert were just OK. Delicious but nothing special and didn’t have the wow factor that other dishes had.
Also we enjoyed the complimentary scallion pancake inspired balls at the start of the meal.
Came out to about $95 per person after tax and tip for food and a cocktail.
First time trying a Michelin starred restaurant and had a great time, I had dinner reservations for 9pm but got there at 8:15 and was sat right away because there was room in the restaurant. It's a small intimate place light with warm candles. My partner and I got the snow crab noodles and chicken plus broccoli and rice for sides . Everything was delicious and decadent. Come here for a special night and will not be disappointed.
They have interesting dishes which are Chinese American fusion. We ordered pig out and snow crab. I didn’t expect spicy peanut noodle to come out with pig out, I really enjoyed spicy and nutty noodle which went well with the crispy pork. Snow crab with Chinese style noodle had creamy sauce which we really enjoyed.
Food was good but the noodles and the fish were too creamy for me personally. Service was okay-ish except that our server accidentally spilled the soup on my partner’s phone. I don’t think he noticed that so we just wiped it off. The atmosphere was cozy, small area with dim lighting.
reasonably price point given that it’s a one Michelin starred restaurant. Chinese inspired , leaning on the richer/heavier side so you’re guaranteed to fill up!
Great spot for date night.
Everything here is fantastic. The pork for two is crunchy and soft and very rich, def worth a try. Though I probably wouldn't do it again. It's very rich.
Broccoli was delicious.
All around amazing flavors.
We had the octopus, the snow crab, and their special appetizer the taro with duck and scallion aioli. I like the octopus, but a bit too salty for my taste. The taro was good too but I wish there was more duck filling compared to the crunchy exterior. I like their snow crab a lot. For desserts, we had their Chinese beignets and it was great!
A michelin stared restaurant but it was very average. There are much better restaurants in nyc with fresh ingredients and great culinary techniques. I do question how they got their star. Starting off with complimentary bread, I don’t complain because it is complimentary. Had the Toro and Octopus for appetizer and Toro was very salty but bland. No flavor other than being salty. Octopus didn’t taste nor felt fresh but the sauce texture help out boost the flavor. Snow crab noodles is one of their known dishes but honestly I can make instant noodles too, just needed to add crab on top. It was just fine for me. Beignets for dessert was interesting? I didn’t understand the whole pairing situation, as if they just added those flavors all of a sudden. And they gave us a spoon and a knife for them. Please tell me how we were supposed to use these two combined.
Now service… wow I absolutely have to dislike it. They kept rushing us even tho when obviously we didn’t finish the plates, their attitude sounded very angry all the time, not in a good mood. I was honestly very disappointed at the service. (Another reason why I disagree with the tipping system here)
The restaurant was nice and cozy but that’s it. Overall I don’t recommend. I honestly question their star. I put it at three stars because I had a nice day and went with enjoyable people.
